Q: What Happens at the Friendship Centers?

A: Many of our centers hold special events, like Halloween Parties, Father's Day, Mother's Day, and celebrations for birthdays of the month. They are places to renew old friendships and make new friends. Speakers from various interests come in also. Additionally, education opportunities are available at some centers. Volunteers are always welcome.


Q: Will my own age group be there?

A: They will, particularly if you and your friends come! The "Dinner Dates" have strong turn outs in the over 70 age group and are building participation in the 60 to 70 age group.


Q: What if I need Transportation?

A: Call a friend or call the Friendship Center nearest you for information about bus tickets.


Q: What about the cost of meals?

A: We welcome donations because they allow us to expand the circle of people we serve, but no pressure to donate is involved. The suggested donation is $3.00.


Q: Where are the Friendship Centers and who can attend?

A: Seven Nutrition Centers are located throughout Monroe County (see Locations). The centers hours may vary at each location, please call for information at 734-242-6800 About one third of the recommended daily allowance of protein, vitamins, and minerals will be served. All meals are prepared fresh daily in our kitchens.
